The old version of i Tunes might be creating trouble.
If you don’t have a proper internet connection, i Tunes will not be able to establish a connection with the update servers.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and locate hosts file. Note: Win 7 and Vista users MUST run Notepad with admin privileges.
Right click on Notepad app and select Run as Administrator. You should now be able to successfully restore the desired older firmware (if SHSH saved).
Now, navigate with the use of arrow keys and check out an entry containing “gs.”Note: If you don't find any entry with the gs.apple.com, then the hosts file isn't related to the issue.
Next up, you have to add the # symbol and space (“# “) at the starting of the gs.entry.
Occurs when trying to install an old firmware and Apple’s server disallows the installation.
So you have to check your hosts file and ensure that there is no entry for “gs.apple.com”.
Mac: Once you’ve followed the above steps, the error should be fixed.
*** If you’re getting i Tunes error 3194 with the latest firmware (Signed i OS) then simply remove the Cydia’s SHSH server IP, if it’s already in the Hosts file.
You can do this either by using Tiny Umbrella or you can also manually edit the hosts file.
You could try again to see if it goes through successfully.
